What software is capable of doing design of circuit boards?

If there are any that are free, I'd like to hear about them. easy to learn but if you want to make your own boards it's difficult to print out double sided pcbs, one side has to be mirrored. As far as I know other pcb manufacturers can't accept their layout so you have to get it from them.
