What sort of animation software can almost give as good effects as Pixar ?

I know they make there own computer animation software

but is there any that can almost give as good effects if you can think of any please do tellWhat sort of animation software can almost give as good effects as Pixar?There is one that comes to mind.

BTW it is a proffesional program but free. There used to be a learning edition that could be downloaded for free, but it looks like they've switched to a 30-day trial. Too bad. :(
