Where can I find a complete Disney Dollars Checklist or collectors guide?

I've just started collecting Disney Dollars and when I collect I like to make sure that I know all there is to know about the collection. I've been looking for some sort of guide to the Disney Dollars but I can't see to find anything. Any ideas?Where can I find a complete Disney Dollars Checklist or collectors guide?

What are the disney classics that have disturbing original stories?

I mean the original stories that where written, and Disney changed them into kid friendly fairy tales, but are really originally gruesome, or sad or such? and what are the original stories of each one? What are the disney classics that have disturbing original stories?
1. Snow White: In the original, Snow White's mother dies in childbirth while giving birth to her. Also, the wicked queen eats the liver %26amp; lung from the boar that the huntsman kills, claiming it's Snow White. Disney cut this part from the movie, because it was too gruesome.

2. Pinocchio: In the original, Gepetto is given a piece of talking wood that torments him. When he carves into it, it screams. When it gets legs, it runs away. The talking cricket in the book annoys Pinocchio %26amp; he smashes it. One evening, Pinocchio falls asleep by a furnace, and his legs get burned off. Gepetto makes him new ones, but only if Pinocchio promises to go to school. He goes to Foolsville instead, where he bites off the hands of the cat %26amp; fox who threaten him. Many other little things are different - but in the end, Pinocchio learns not to lie, and he does become a real boy.

3. Sleeping Beauty: The original begins where the Disney movie ends. The princess (who is NOT Aurora) has touched the spindle, slept for 100 years, and has already been awoken by the prince. They marry and THEY have a daughter whom they name Aurora. The prince's mother tries to kill %26amp; eat the princess and her children, Aurora %26amp; Day, when the prince goes to war. When he returns, he saves his family and kills his mother.

4. Fox %26amp; The Hound: in the original, Tod the fox lures Chief the older dog onto railroad tracks where he is killed. Copper the hound %26amp; his owner track Tod for years. When they find him, they gas his fox hole, killing his cubs. A fox trap that the master sets kills Tod's wife. Tod finds another mate %26amp; has more cubs, who are all found %26amp; shot by the master. At the end, Tod is found %26amp; killed by the master. Shortly after, the master takes Copper out %26amp; shoots him too because he is old.

5. The Little Mermaid: in the original, if the little mermaid can't make the prince fall in love with her, she will turn into sea foam. The rest of the story is pretty accurate. She is unable to get the prince to love %26amp; marry her, and he marries someone else - so the little mermaid turns to sea foam.

6. Beauty %26amp; The Beast: Beauty has selfish sisters in the original, who are greedy. Beauty does go to the Beast's kingdom to stay in place of her father, who had been held there captive by the beast. She is allowed to return home to see her father, like in the movie. Her sisters try to delay her from returning, hoping Beast will kill her. She does return though, falls in love with him, and he turns into a prince. Then beauty's sisters are turned into statues in the mansion, forever watching their sisters happiness.

7. Pocahontas: In reality, Pocahontas was only 12 when she met John Smith. She saved his life, but they were never romantically involved. She married John Rolfe when she was 19, who was a planter. When she was 22, she died of smallpox.

8. Mulan: There are many versions of this, as it was all word of mouth. Some versions have Mulan killing herself, others have her going back to battle, some end up with her marrying.

There is a book dedicated to this topic that you might really like to read. It talks about the original version, and then explains how Disney changed it. It also talks about how the movie is integrated into the parks. The book is called "Mouse Under Glass" and is available at Amazon.

Little Mermaid

Parts in Aladdin- There was a part in the song where they say something like "They cut of your ear if they don't like your face" but was changed to something else.

Snow White- fortunately disney hasn鈥檛 done too much damage to this tale, but they did leave out one important original element: in the original tale, the Queen actually asks for Snow White鈥檚 liver and lungs 鈥?which are to be served for dinner that night! In the orignal she wakes up from the horse ride, not a kiss. What the prince wanted to do with a dead girl鈥檚 body I will leave to your imagination. Oh 鈥?in the Grimm version, the tale ends with the Queen being forced to dance to death in red hot iron shoes!

Sleeping Beauty- tale is not so sweet (in fact, you have to read this to believe it.) In the original, the young woman is put to sleep because of a prophesy, rather than a curse. And it isn鈥檛 the kiss of a prince which wakes her up: the king seeing her asleep, and rather fancying having a bit, rapes her. After nine months she gives birth to two children (while she is still asleep). One of the children sucks her finger which removes the piece of flax which was keeping her asleep. She wakes up to find herself raped and the mother of two kids.

Cinderella-Grimm brothers: in this version, the nasty step-sisters cut off parts of their own feet in order to fit them into the glass slipper 鈥?hoping to fool the prince. The prince is alerted to the trickery by two pigeons who peck out the step sister鈥檚 eyes. They end up spending the rest of their lives as blind beggars while Cinderella gets to lounge about in luxury at the prince鈥檚 castle. What are the disney classics that have disturbing original stories?
The Rescuers movie bears almost no resemblance to the book.

There were 3 mice. Miss Binaca was only to carry a message between the 2 males, one of which was Niles. She is not a member of the society.

The Rescue Aid Society gave friendship and comfort to men in prisons. There had been no plans to rescue one.

The prisoner is a man. He is being held in a dungeon in a European country. A political prisoner.

The warden's cat is named Lucifer.

There is NO little girl, no Madam Medusa, no swamp, no alligators, no goonybirds, no precious gems and no romance between the mice.

It was a adult adventure novel and rather sad.

Any of the stories that were based on Grimm's Fairy Tales are gruesome.

Cinderella ends with the Stepmother being invited to the wedding of the new Queen, recognizes her and they force her to put on iron shoes that have been heating in the fireplace. She dances herself to death.

In Snow White there is no cure for her sleep and the Prince rapes her and leaves her sleeping.
Oh, The Little Mermaid is the big one. Here is the original: http://hca.gilead.org.il/li_merma.html In which Ariel feels as if she steps on white hot knives with every step she takes, and becomes a "pet girl".

In Cinderella, each of the stepsisters cut off parts of their feet in order to fit into the glass slipper, for, as their mother says, "When you are queen, you will not have to walk." The prince actually rides off with each of them before figuring out that they are not his love.

Believe it or not, Bambi was based on a book. Which involved far more death than the one scene we all bawl at during the movie, and actually had some very mature morals.

In Rapunzel, both Rapunzel and her lover's eyes are clawed out by the witch who imprisoned her.

And this one isn't exactly disturbing, but interesting nonetheless; the original Tarzan was a complete Gary Stu.What are the disney classics that have disturbing original stories?
The Little Mermaid- she ends up jumping into the waves, and turning into sea foam.

Cinderella- one of the stepsisters cuts off her heel.

Snow White- the queen tries to suffocate Snow White with a tight corset.

That's all I can think of right now :)
The King and I. Tuptim was executed for supposedly cheating on the king, among other things, that the Disney version removed.

How far in advance to buy disney world tickets?

Is it cheaper to plan a vacation to Disney World 1 year in advance (like a 5 day stay, their hotel resorts and all) ? Or does it really matter? Are prices (prices of like the rooms) different from buying 1 year in advance as oppose to like 3 months advance or 6 months? Does Disney World offer vacationing deals? If so, is it just better to wait around for a special deal??? Basically, i'm looking for cheapest route here. How far in advance to buy disney world tickets?
August is when Disney releases their room and package prices. So, in August 2010, the 2011 package prices came out. The "rack rate" prices are set. There is no discount for booking early. Disney does offer various discounts throughout the year. They currently have free dining plan, gift card, and % off room rate available. If you find a discount for your intended travel dates, you should book it. If a better discount is released, you can call and see if it can be applied to your package, or cancel your package and re-book. The only place where timing makes a difference is with park tickets. The ticket prices are assigned in August of the current year. New ticket prices are effective immediately. So, if you book a package (or just buy tickets) in July, you will pay less than if you do it in September.

Any discounts Disney has offered in the past are not guaranteed for the future. That said, here is a website for Disney's historical discounts:

http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdw鈥?/a>
Elizabeth G. explained it fairly well, but I have one thing to add. It's not that you don't get a discount on tickets if you book early - it's if you book early you are booking the hotel *only.* The ticket prices for 2011 were released in August. If you booked a trip for 2011 in July - you booked only the hotel. I made a reservation for January 2011 last March. But, when the ticket rates were announced I had to call and add tickets to my reservation. The exception to this is the last few months of the year. You can make a reservation for December 2011 now, because the prices were released back in August. However, there is no discount for early reservations. As an aside, if you make a reservation for a certain time frame, and later find out Disney has released a special for that time frame (such as free dining plan), just call them up and tell them you want the special and they will modify your reservations accordingly - but you have to ask, they won't just do it.How far in advance to buy disney world tickets?
The exact prices can vary from day to day, and there are no constant discounts on buying things early. If you want someone to look around for you, talk to a travel agent; they'll know what to look for.

However, when it comes to rooms and other events, you WILL want to reserve them early. Rooms and dinner reservations fill up fast, so you want to book your rooms at least 6 months early, and restaurant reservations 3 months early. You wont get a discount, but you'll be assured of getting rooms on time.
Depends. Sometimes if they have special offers out is it better to plan and book now. Or you can wait and hope they get a better offer than they have now. If you want to send me information I can check and see what codes are out that you may qualify for now. Are you military? AAA? plan on buying an annual pass? How many people are going and ages? What dates are you looking for? Currently they are offering free dinning or gift cards for certain stays on certain dates. I love planning Disney vacations and would be happy to help. How far in advance to buy disney world tickets?
There are no discounts for booking early (unless it is part of a current special offer). The room rates go by the time of year (peak seasons like summer/spring break/holidays are higher, value seasons are lower). However, Disney always has some special offers to choose from. Here are their current special offers:

Where are these areas and how do staff know to let you in?

ThanksHow does Walt Disney World preferred viewing area work (for Illuminations and Wishes)?
This is what I've discovered. It is from the wdisneyw.com forums.

    ------

Just found out that preferred viewing in MK is outside The Plaza and in Epcot it is the Morocco Boat landing area.. Here is a reply from WDW.com:

There are indeed special viewing areas for the evening firework shows at the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. It can vary due to special activities that might be going on in the parks but it is always with a great view and you won't have to elbow to get a good spot an hour before hand. In the Magic Kingdom you will meet at the Plaza Landing by the Plaza restaurant and in EPCOT you will meet at the Morocco boat landing. It is preferred viewing and there will not be seats.

Just to be sure, I'd contact your vacation planner and confirm this information. How does Walt Disney World preferred viewing area work (for Illuminations and Wishes)?
If you are talking about dinner and show options, they put a bracelet on you. I do not know where exactly those areas.

Where can I find a cheap Disney Vacation Package?

I have been searching around at Disney Vacation Packages for my boyfriend and I to go together. I have found so many sites with unbelievably cheap vacation packages (like 200 for both of us) but they require us to be 25 and married and we are only 21.

I would like to know if any of you know of any sites where we can find vacation packages to Disney in Florida for a very cheap/reasonable price. I've already looked on big sites like Expedia, priceline, etc. Thanks!Where can I find a cheap Disney Vacation Package?
Those ultra cheap sites are timeshare sales. You really don't want to get in on that.

If you are trying to go ultra cheap you can buy your park tickets, and then just rent a cheap hotel outside the park. You may even find one that includes breakfast. However, you need to consider a couple of things. If you are outside the park you will need a car. Also, you will have to pay to park that car at Disney World every day. Also beware of resort fees, and fees for the safe, and who knows what other fee. You can call the hotel to make sure. The discount websites don't have that information. That is how they get the prices on the discount site to look cheap.

Good luck. Do a little research and look at the hotel reviews. Just make sure that by the time you add in the fees and the parking that you are not going over the price of the Value Resorts at Disney. Disney is not a 'cheap' vacation, but you can be careful and get the best value possible.Where can I find a cheap Disney Vacation Package?
If you've found packages that are unbelievably cheap yet require you to be 25 and married then they will require you to sit through boring and lengthy timeshare presentations and will hound you to purchase a timeshare throughout your entire trip. You're better off without that option.

I personally always feel the safest route to go is to purchase a package directly from Disney World. It's not cheap, but that's just a fact that you'll have to deal with. If you find a cheap Disney World vacation package, beware... Someones either trying to sell you something else OR it's just a fraud to get your money.

If you want to save money then I would suggest going during a value season when hotel rates are at their lowest. January would be an excellent time to go. Disney also usually has special deals going on; just check their website for details.Where can I find a cheap Disney Vacation Package?
