I am looking into starting up a business for designing flyers, billboards, signs. How much are you willing to invest?



I would suggest either Macromedia Freehand or Adobe Photoshop. Paint shop is also nice.





The good thing about freehand is that it's very intuitive, and is a vector program, You can scale things and print things without losing quality, as well as easily change them.





Photoshop is nice due to its power and effects. However, it is much harder to retain image quality when scaling something up, and you;re more prone to jaggies or other unsightly effects.



Thirdly, you can try downloading and installing The Gimp, which is freeware, and rumored to be just as powerful, f not more powerful than, photoshop, I've not worked with Gimp that often, but from what I've seen, it is rather nice.
