Disney to be the first foreign TV channel on Chinese cable. What is the cultural impact?

As part of its just announced deal to construct a $3.5 billion theme park in Shanghai, Disney is being granted a slot in China's cable TV system. The Disney Channel will become the first ever foreign operated TV channel in China. What will be the positive and (if any) negative cultural impact of this?Disney to be the first foreign TV channel on Chinese cable. What is the cultural impact?
well, on one hand it's good...

but on the other...

i would say they should develop their own national amusement parks...

"Mokey Kingdom" or "Sky Park" or whatever...

with all those myths and legendary heroes...

clouds, red dragons, white breaded old wise men...

coz building smth foreign means giving a part of the money somewhere aside...

for using brands, names, design etc...

all those Mermaids and Beauties-and-the-Beasts...

they aren't close to local hearts...

so i assume they won't be that much successful as one of the four ancient beauties (with all those traditional robes and hairstyles)...

looking down, nodding, blusing -- that kind of stuff...

China isn't the country which needs foreign culture impact...

for they have plenty of their own...

it's just a bit unpopularized at the moment...

take Ninja Turtles - Americans with Japanese origin...

why so hard to make smth like local Bamboo Brothers?...

a team of bamboo shoots who live in the forest...

(aka Water Margin but for kids)

good guys who regularly deal with some bad guys...

maybe insects who want to destroy the farmers' fields...

all those martial art battles, funny dialogues, eating dumplings...

maybe such feminine heroes as sisters Needle and Thread...

who live in a local Uncle Tailor's house...

here is a 200 episodes series of pure Chinese origin...

hard to do that?...

very easy if to find the one who wants to do at least anything...Disney to be the first foreign TV channel on Chinese cable. What is the cultural impact?
Disney figures eg Cinderalla, Snow White etc are promotions of the soft American culture. For example, what do these beauties look like, the kind of dress they wear, their dances, smiles and so forth all represent the American yardstick for judging beauty.

The prince picking Cinderalla and not her rich sisters too is the American core value of equal and fair opportunity. Many of us are brought up with Disney's fairy tales which have given us plenty of imaginations, it'll will be interesting to see how these tales and fables should impact the younger generations of the mainland.Disney to be the first foreign TV channel on Chinese cable. Walt Disney movies were restricted in China for many years because of "talking animals" like Bambi and Mickey mouse.

Pirates of Carribeans 2 was also banned in 2006

The movie is rated PG-13 in the US, PG in Singapore, 12 in South Korea, 7 in Spain and banned in China.
China should get CCTV 9 set up in America as mutual exchange.
