How many days will be enough to spend at Disney World?

Me and my boyfriend are planning to go to Disney world one day and my boyfriend keeps telling that one day is enough. (I don't think that's right) I would really like to know how many days will I need to spend there to do everything. And since we couldn't possibly afford to stay in the park, we would need to buy a ticket daily to get back in the park. Are there and good packages or anything so that wouldn't be so expensive? How many days will be enough to spend at Disney World?
i think you need to do a bit of research about what disney world actually consists of.

disney world is not just ONE theme park.

disney world is 47 square miles in size and consists of...

4 theme parks:

-magic kingdom (probably the theme park you were thinking of as disney world as a whole)

-epcot

-hollywood studios

-animal kingdom

2 water parks:

-blizzard beach

-typhoon lagoon

plus downtown disney which is a free area to walk around with shops, restaurants, and other forms of entertainment including a movie theater, cirque du soleil show, and disneyquest which is a huge indoor arcade.

disney world also has the ESPN wide world of sports complex, 4 golf courses, 24 on property hotels, and other activities located throughout the property.

you say you want to know how long you would need to do "everything" well as you can see that would take quite a long time and even if you went on several trips you could not get everything done.

now i you want to know how long you should go to see the essentials then one park per day so 4 days would be required but here are my personal recommendations

-magic kingodm: 2 days

-epcot: 1 to 1-1/2 days

-hollywood studios: 1 day

-animal kingdom: 3/4 of a day

and make sure you have AT LEAST 1 day to relax. (sleep in a little, hang by the pool at your hotel, go to downtown disney mid afternoon/evening)

and if you have the time and money then hit up at least one of the two water parks for a day.

as for the disney world hotels how do you know they are out of your price range?

what is your price range?

there are 3 price levels

value resorts (least expensive)

moderate resorts (moderately priced)

deluxe resorts (most expensive)

value resorts start at $82 per night which really isn't much more than you would find anywhere else.

and what do you mean you would have to buy a ticket daily to get back in?

there is no charge to drive around disney world property.

you just need to pay for tickets into the theme parks.

the way disney world tickets work is you purchase 1 ticket per person with however many days you want on it. (if you want a 4 day ticket which would allow you to visit one of the four theme parks each day for four days then you would buy a 4 day BASE ticket for you and a 4 day BASE ticket for your boyfriend).

the more days on the ticket the less it costs per day.

sure you could buy four 1 days tickets for each of you but that would be waaay more expensive than buying one 4 day ticket.

i suggest you go on the disney world website and explore everything they have to offer. check out the parks, check out the ticket prices and options, check out the hotels and room rates, check out the special offers section to see if anything applies to you, and customize a package thats perfect for you to see how much it will cost.

A week at the least, but I recommend 10 days to 2 weeks for the best experience as you will be jamming a lot in with no down time if you only spend a week. I have a feeling your boyfriends ha no idea how big WDW is.

There are 4 major parks, 2 water parks, an indoor interactive arcades, several shopping and dining venues etc. I typically recommend that visitors spend a minimum of the following:

Magic Kingdom: 2 days
Epcot: 1 1/2 days
Disney Hollywood Studios: 1 1/2 days
Animal Kingdom: 1 1/2 days
Disney Quest: 1/2 day
Downtown Disney: 1/2 day.
Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon 1/2 day

Yes you very possibly can afford to stay within the Walt Disney World Resort. In fact you can probably save money by staying on site. The value resorts can run as low as $79 a night without a special. WDW also runs specials such as free dining, or pay for 3 days, stay for 7 days etc.
Also, WDW guests get extra hours in the parks that are not available to off site guests. This make it possible to visit all of WDW in fewer days. How many days will be enough to spend at Disney World?
We spend a minimum of six days; more like seven exclusively at the Disney parks and still don't do or see it all. If all you have is one day or a few days, though, go to the Disney World website, look at all the attractions at each park and decide which of the parks you'd like to visit. Make sure to jot down which rides you want to do and focus on those when you get there. Use the free Fastpasses you can get when you're in the park. These will spare you a lot of time waiting in long lines. If by any chance you can visit at least three of the theme parks than expect to spend a minimum of one day at each. Keep your eye out on advertised specials. Sometimes you can get good bargains by purchasing a package through them that includes hotel, park tickets, and at times free dining. Just so you know the least expensive of Disney's resorts are called Value.
We typically spend about 10 days and don't fit it all in. It may make your boyfriend feel better to know that it's not just kid stuff, there are lots of adult activities to check out, in addition to the theme park rides. My husband and I take the kids once a year and then go once a year alone for our anniversary, we always have a blast! How many days will be enough to spend at Disney World?
The value resorts in Disney are one of the best deals around for a hotel.

One day is just barley enough for one park. There are four parks. Everyone must have ticket to get into the park each day they go. If they stay at a Disney resort or not.

the more days you buy the cheaper it is per day. check out site below.
You need at least 3 days. We stayed that many. We went before the huge crowds came but even so it

was crowded and the wait for rides was a good while. It is well worth it tho! I went on Pirates Of The

Carribean 3 times. I love it and all the others things to do is so worth taking the time while you are there.

We stayed nearby and got good rates at a nice motel. Have a wonderful time.
Animal Kingdom is the only park within WDW that you can do in one day. Otherwise, two days for each of the other three parks (six days total) will give you a good taste for what the park offers.

To do everything - ten days to two weeks
There are 4 major parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood studio (formerly MGM). Then there are 2 water parks if you are so inclined.

You could do ONE park in ONE day however if you are going to do MORE than one park you need to either buy a second ticket for the other park - OR get a hopper.

My adult daughter and I have been to WDW a lot we can do 4 parks in 2 days but we stay on property and take advantage of the early park open and late park open for park guests. We are VERY experienced in fast pass and making sure we have planned ahead - our schedule and route.

If you have never been there - you will likely have to pick one park and go there. There are so many benefits of staying in the park and the Value resorts are $79.00. Any savings you would have staying off park will be way offset by the extra magic hours and transportation.

UPDATED INFORMATION: For some reason I think that people are confused by some of my terminology. Staying 'on property' means that you are staying at one of the hotels owned/managed by WDW and can participate in the transportation and special early in and open late that those hotels get. Staying in a disney hotel increases your access but still requires a separate ticket.
Are you sure you're talking about Disney World, in Florida, not Disneyland, in California? You can do Disneyland in one day, but can't do all the great stuff in Disney World in one day. Either your boyfriend is clueless about Disney World, or perhaps is not really very interested in it, and doesn't want to spend many days there.

None of the hotels at Disney World are really in the parks. Even if you stay there you still need a ticket each day. They are on Disney property, and they give you certain benefits that are great for visiting the park. The most important are free, frequently running transportation between your hotel and the parks, "extra magic hours" which are times the parks are open only for Disney hotel guests, and an optional meal plan that changes a fixed price per day for all your meals at the Disney parks or hotels.

You buy the same tickets whether you stay in a Disney hotel or not. You usually buy tickets for all the days you will go in advance. You save a lot when you buy a multi-day ticket. It's not four times as much for four days as it is for one day.

It's fine to stay off-site. But ideally you have a car if you do that. Or check very carefully about the shuttle service provided by your hotel. Some have free shuttle service, but it might run only once or twice at park opening and closing.

Minimum to really be satisfied that you have seen everything you wanted to see (though you haven't seen it all) is one day for each of the theme parks in Disney World: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. But if you don't have to see it all, you can skip one of them, or get a park-hopper ticket, which lets you come and go from any of the parks in the same day. You could skip particular rides at each park that you're not as excited about.

Generally Disney does not let discounts run wild. Their own website has some limited availability offers, such as discount hotel rates or a free meal plan. I have heard of other discounts, but sometimes they involve sitting through a timeshare presentation. If you can get one of the Disney discounts, then you might find that staying in the park is not much more expensive than staying outside, once you factor meals, parking, and rental car if not driving there.
To do everything 4 days

1 day for each park.

But you can fit everything in 3 in you got a hopper pass

For example you could do the main 3 rides at MGM then do epcot

If you a re going to the water parks then leave yourselves another 2 days
