Do I have to install all software after formating?

I'm planning to format my computer, but there's one thing that keeps my from doing it. Last time I installed the entire Adobe CS3 it took a while.

If I keep all such software with my videos music and games on an external harddrive, will I have to reinstall the games and software afterwards?Do I have to install all software after formating? That depends - you say that all of your software is on an EXTERNAL harddrive, that is, one that you will NOT be formatting?

If so, then your software may continue to work in some cases, after you reconnect that external harddrive. You should however be prepared to reinstall anything that doesn't come out working on the other end.Do I have to install all software after formating?Yes, if you format the drive everything will be erased, including everything in the registry. So if you just move installed programs onto a harddrive and copy them back when you have, its likely anything made after 2000 will ask you to re-install.

If thats what you meant.

Formatting takes a while to get everything back, but normally its worth it.

Note that Adobe CS3 takes amazingly less time to install on windows 7 for some reason - i too was worried about spending 5 hours installing it, but yes i was surprised. So windows 7 makes it quicker.

But again, all will be lost on the partition you kill, so get ready to install everything again.

Good luckDo I have to install all software after formating?Yes!!!!!!
